News that the Kitchen Garden deli and cafe in Oban’s George Street had ceased trading was met with widespread dismay.

Michèle MacLennan: ‘Oh no !!! What a shame !!! An amazing place upstairs and downstairs !!! And so lovely staff !! Like friends.’

Joan Kemp: ‘That is a great tragedy – very sad and disappoint­ed.’

Lucie Howard: ‘What a shame...my favourite place in Oban to have lunch. Liz Gibson So sorry to see this. Thinking of you all.’

Where else am I going to buy my sugar mice at Christmas?’

Cat Connelly: ‘This is very sad news. I loved the deli and your lovely hampers etc at Christmas. It’s not good for the Main Street. Two of the nicest shops in the town gone, very sad.’
