Oban Lorne P BT West Division 1

OBAN Lorne’s fixture pile-up continues with another postponed game, this time in the form of Saturday’s trip away to Annan.

Pitch conditions due to melting snow and a heavy downpour of rain meant that the game could not go ahead at Annans Violetbank pitch.

Saturday’s postponement was a huge blow for Oban Lorne who had a full and strong match day squad.

The team still have a huge tally of ten games remaining that need to be played between now and Saturday May 19.

Oban now find themselves ten points adrift of safety in the league but have three games in hand on some of the teams above them.

This Saturday the team entertain mid table Kilmarnock at Glencruitten.

The sides met earlier in the season with Killie recording a thumping 106-13 win over an understrength Oban team.

Kick off is 3pm at Glencruitten.

The clubhouse will also be open for all of Saturday’s Nat West Six Nations fixtures.

OBAN Lorne Ladies were left without another fixture on Sunday as Royal Dick Vet Ladies conceded the National League 2 tie due to a lack of available players. This means that Oban Lorne have now won the league title and have sealed their promotion to National League 1 for the 2018/19 season.

For Oban the focus is now on their two remaining league fixtures but also the task of the meeting between themselves and Howe of Fife Women on Sunday April 8 in the semi final of the BT National Bowl Competition.

The sides will battle for a place in the National Final at BT Murrayfield on Saturday April 28.

This Sunday Oban Lorne Ladies travel away from home to take on mid table Grangemouth RFC. The teams met earlier in the season with Oban recording a 68-0 win.
