Work to fill potholes in Oban caused a mixed reaction among readers.

Lorna Wylie: While I appreciate the roads need done and the traffic hasn’t been too bad the last few day, today it is absolute gridlock. School times were bad yesterday but today is a disaster. Neither end of the town is moving. 40 minutes and I still haven’t managed to get onto the main road from Soroba. Michelle Hewitt: Why cannot this work be done late evening when the traffic is light. Just don’t understand it. James John McTaggart: No pleasing some people, job’s getting done and still people complain.

Danielle Hay-West: Tbh I didn’t find it too bad the last few days...the most I waited was 15 mins. And the results are worth it. Glad it’s a proper top layer removal and replace job, rather than a patchwork quilt. Well done the guys. Especially when it’s cold and wet today. Jo Allen Way: Too late to announce this, already been stuck in it, pathetic road management and zero lack of warnings, better warnings would have stopped a lot of traffic even going to Oban today. Kathleen Murgatroyd: I’m sure the end result will be worth it, but a little more notice would have stopped folk being late for appointments! Samantha Leiper: Great well done to the boys fixing the road people are going to moan no matter what happens. Everyone needs to zip it and let them fix the road.

Paul Bailey: Just awaiting all the moaning to start, no pain, no gain, the roads did need sorting out and at least it’s before the holidays start.

Peter Yates: Bite the bullet now save time later. Well done Oban council.
