Oban Lorne Ladies are looking the part
OBAN Lorne Ladies have hopes of reaching their first ever national final as the team prepare for the semi-final clash this weekend.
Sunday’s BT Women’s Bowl semi-final for the ladies will be played at home against National One opposition Howe of Fife Harlequins, who have been having a strong season in their league, one tier above Oban Lorne Ladies.
After securing a league win with two games still to play, Oban have had a strong 2017/18 season. The team have won all their league fixtures, racking up some impressive scorelines in the process.
The ladies have been training hard for Sunday’s game against Harlequins. The winner of the match will play in the final at BT Murrayfield on Saturday April 28 against the winner of the other semi-final between Orkney and Garioch.
Howe of Fife will provide Oban with what will surely be their most challenging and physical game of the season.
The Oban side have home advantage as the game will take place at Glencruitten, and coach Corrie Louw, along with team managers Darrell Williams and Ellie MacNiven, have a strong team available for selection.
Please get along to Glencruitten and support the team in this very important game. Kick-off is at 2pm with the bar and clubhouse open all day. There will also be a raffle with proceeds going to Oban Lorne Rugby Club.
Team captain Laura MacCormick said: ‘This is a huge achievement for the team and the support of the town would be greatly appreciated.’
