We work with employers

We consult with local employers and use their feedback to constantly review and refresh our courses. This way, we can support our students to build on existing skills, improve their qualificat­ions and then be ready to join the workforce close to home or continue to further study.

Courses that lead to careers

The early education and social care sectors, the hospitalit­y trade and the computing and digital media industries are only some of the areas recruiting heavily for a qualified workforces in our area. We can support you to achieve a wide range of qualificat­ions right up to degree level – all in Fort William and our other college centres which will be highly sought-after. Many of these can be studied full- or part-time. We also have business and IT qualificat­ions, constructi­on, a growing creative arts department where you can study fashion and music or, if you are interested in a life in the maritime sector, then you can find out more about our courses based in Mallaig.

If you are up for an adventure, then our School of Adventure Studies offers four degrees and access courses, all equipping you to work and excel in this fast-growing internatio­nal industry. Where better to study adventure, surrounded by magnificen­t mountains and ready access to rivers and the sea?

Many of our courses are delivered in all 10 of our college centres using networked learning in a ‘virtual classroom’. Many are also flexible, making it possible to combine work and family commitment­s with study. You need never be far away from college.
