Nevis Centre ten pin bowling singles’ results

After the final week of the ten pin bowling singles’ leagues at The Nevis Centre in Fort William, some changes occurred to the league tables because all players dropped their worst week so that only their best nine out of the 10 weeks of competitio­n counted.

Brian Johnstone won the overall combined men’s and ladies’ scratch league with 127 points, followed by Pam Weller on 117 and Tony Whitelocke on 99 points. Brian Johnstone also won the overall combined men’s and ladies’ handicap league with 112 points, followed by Iain Gregor on 100 points and Steve Day on 99 points.

Brian Johnstone also won the men’s scratch league with 83 points, followed by Tony Whitelocke on 63 points and John Weller on 60 points. Brian also won the Robert Cairns trophy for the men’s handicap league with 73 points, followed by Steve Day and Iain Gregor both on 65 points.

In the ladies’ divisions Pam Weller won the ladies’ scratch league with 45 points, followed by Gaynor Weldon on 31 points and Jean Fisher on 27 points. Pam Weller also won the British Legion trophy for the ladies’ handicap division with 33 points, followed by Mo Mason on 31 points and Alma Sorley and Jean Fisher both on 28 points.

Brian Johnstone won the Nevis Radio High Pin Trophy for the most total scratch pins knocked over throughout the season with 4,229 pins, followed by Pam Weller in second with 4,040 and Tony Whitelocke in third with 3,882 pins.

During the final week of competitio­n the top individual scratch game came from Pam Weller with a 189. Ben Weller had games of 172 and 170. Pam Weller also had the top handicap game with 228.

The highest three game scratch series of the week came from Ben Weller with 491 followed by Pam Weller with 453 and Tony Whitelocke with 452. Ben Weller also had the best three-game handicap series of 602, closely followed by Mo Mason with 600 and Tony Whitelocke with 581.
