Around the markets
– United Auctions sold 272 grazing cattle at their recent sale held at Islay Auction Mart. Bullocks levelled out at £838 per head or 242 pence per kilo. Heifers averaged £731 per head or 221 pence per kilo. An excellent show of well bred cattle were on offer and sold to a good ringside of buyers.

Dalmally – United Auctions held the firm’s annual June sale of all classes of cattle and sheep at Dalmally Auction Mart when 172 cattle and 902 sheep were sold.
All classes of stock sold readily to a good ringside of buyers on Saturday June 2, and at levels comparing favourably to other principal mainland centres.
