Appeal for support from Dalmally Golf Club
An appeal has been made by Dalmally Golf Club for organisations and businesses to support its forthcoming competitions.
Over the next few months, the club is hosting a number of open events, in which Argyll organisations and businesses are invited to take part.
Club match secretary Tony Graham said: ‘Dalmally is a small club at the heart of the community. We are run by volunteers, who not only manage the club but are actively involved in all aspects of it – greenkeeping, running the clubhouse, maintaining machinery, coaching and competition organising.
‘We are particularly proud of our work raising funds for charity, coaching for young people and sharing our facilities and equipment with local community organisations.
‘We are keen to involve local businesses and not-for-profit organisations to take part in our open competitions, consider sponsorship opportunities – for example, we are working hard to upgrade our facilities and make our course and clubhouse more accessible to all – and contribute to our events by donating prizes.’
The next open competition is the gents’ individual strokeplay, sponsored by Bay Hotels, on Sunday July 1.
The entry fee is £15, which includes refreshments, but there are cash prizes for the first three players in both handicap and scratch sections. There will also be prizes for nearest the flag and longest drives.
This will be followed by the gents’ three-man team Stableford competition on July 22, a mixed pairs open in August and the ladies’ open in September.
Tony added: ‘Getting involved provides you and your colleagues with a fun way for healthy competitive activity and team building, corporate hospitality for your customers and clients, a chance to network with other businesses, and raises your profile in our community.
‘If you would like your organisation to take part in any of these competitions, please do not hesitate to contact me. At each of these events, members of our committee will be available to talk about opportunities for sponsorship and other ways in which you can help us make a greater impact in our community.’
