Fort William FC appoints new team manager
Fort William Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of new team manager Kris Anderson. Kris has signed a two-year deal with the club and said: ‘I am delighted to be given the opportunity at such a fantastic club.
‘I have worked with some excellent coaches in the past and can’t wait to work with the team here.
‘My team and I will build and develop a strong squad incorporating the club’s fantastic youth set up as well.
‘I can’t wait to see you all at
Claggan Park.’
Kris, 39, originally from Aberdeen, now living in Inverness, is an army veteran of 13 years, and has more than 12 years of coaching experience, most recently within Inverness Clach’s youth set-up from which he progressed through the SFA coaching system to SFA licence C, with hopes of taking the UEFA B licence next year.
The Fort William committee was made aware of Kris’s availability through an SFA contact and after a few brief conversations and an in-depth meeting between Kris and committee member Willie Edwards, it was a ‘no brainer’ to make signing Kris a priority as it was apparent he wasn’t in it for the short term.
He shared a long-term vision for the club that ran alongside the current committee’s vision and, with pre-season on the doorstep – Monday July 25, 7pm Claggan Park – the club felt it was great to get the deal done and across the line at this crucial time.
