Sunday 29th July – Craobh Racing
The Craobh Race marks the start of the Points Series for the week and all yachts race off Craobh in Loch Melfort. The Tunnock’s Fleet enjoys two Round the Buoys races to the south while The Argyll Fleet will circumnavigate the island of Shuna.
Monday 30th July – Craobh to Oban Passage Race sponsored by Owen Sails
This passage race must rate as one of the most scenic in the world over the 20 mile course taking in a mix of island and mainland scenery including the tidal races between Fladda and Luing. The finish is to the North of Kerrera.
Tuesday 31st July – Firth of Lorne Races
Fleets race off Oban with two courses for the Tunnock’s Fleet and an inshore race for the white sail Argyll Fleet.
Wednesday 1st August – Oban to Tobermory Race
The Oban to Tobermory passage race is probably the most popular race of the week Tobermory is an iconic destination for sailors offering renowned hospitality for WHYW competitors. Stunning scenery complements the racing against the backdrop of the island of Mull and the Morvern peninsula.
Thursday 2nd August – Sound of Mull Races
The Tunnock’s Fleet race two Olympic style courses in an area bounded by Rubha nan Gall and Mingary Bay while The Argyll Fleet race out to Kilchoan, Ardmore, Quinish Point and Ardnacross Bay before sailing south to the Green Isle and back to Tobermory Bay.
Friday 3rd August – Tobermory to Oban Race sponsored by Thomas Tunnock Ltd
The final day’s racing marks the end of the regatta with the fleet heading to Oban down the Sound of Mull. This race is the final one to decide the Points Series for the week. The final prize-giving is this year being held at Dunstaffnage Marina.
