❚ Lochaber Vegan Fair will be held in Duncansbur­gh MacIntosh Church Hall on Saturday July 21 from 11am until 4pm.

❚ Staff and volunteers from Caol-based Lochaber Sensory Care (LSC) for sight and hearing support will be visiting Morvern on Tuesday July 24. From 10.30am to 12.30pm the LSC representa­tives will be at Morvern Medical Centre in Lochaline to offer assistance and advice to anyone locally with a sight or hearing loss. The team will also repair and maintain NHS hearing aids, supply NHS batteries and provide retubing. No appointmen­t is required for this free service.

❚ Glengarry Parish Church is hosting its annual flower festival from Thursday July 26 to Sunday July 29, between 10am and 9pm each day. A praise evening in the church will take place on the Sunday evening from 7pm. This year the festival’s theme is Our Highland Home and this will be illustrate­d in a series of flower arrangemen­ts focusing on hospitalit­y, leisure, landscape, our community woodland and employment. Donations to church funds will be gratefully received.

❚ The Highland Bookshop is hosting a story time with children’s author Molly Arbuthnot between 11am and noon on Saturday July

28. This event is free and no tickets are required.

❚ The fourth Internatio­nal Fort William Marathon takes place on Sunday July 29. The challengin­g multi-terrain marathon begins at Nevis Range and takes in some of the area’s most fantastic scenery and landmarks, including the Commando Memorial, Caledonian Canal, General Wade’s high bridge and, of course, Ben Nevis.
