Recent results from Fort William Golf Club
Golfers have been taking part in a number of competitions this month at Fort William Golf Club.
On Saturday July 7 the July Medal was played with the following result: Section 1 - 1 Steven Jamieson, net 70 (73 – 3); 2 Peter Stewart, net 71 (84 – 13); 3 James Duncan, net 72 (85 – 13).
Section 2 - 1 Frank Sweeney, net 75 (91 - 16);2 Sinclair Gunn, net 76 (96 - 20); 3 Pat Cassidy, net 82 (99 – 17)).
On Sunday July 8 the July Senior Medal was played with the following result: 1 Kevin Hickman, net 64 (89 – 25); 2 Frank Sweeney, net 67 (83 – 16); 3 Steven Jamieson, net 69 (72 – 3).
On Tuesday July 10 the Neebs Nappers 12-hole Stableford was played with the following result: 1 David MacPherson, 27 points; 2 Brian Stewart, 26 points; 3 Keith Sangster, 23 points.
On Wednesday July 11 the American Golf 12-hole Stableford was played with the following result: 1 Andrew Brown, 27 points; 2 George Band, 26 points (BIH); 3 Sinclair Gunn, 26 points.
On Saturday and Sunday July 14-15 the two rounds of the MacIver Cup were played with the following result: 1 Willie Duncan, net 131 (60 + 71); 2 Brian Stewart, net 133 (68 + 65); 3 Peter Stewart, net 134 (67 + 67).
Ladies: On Tuesday July 10 a 12-hole par competition was played with the following result: 1 Helen Brian, 4 up; 2 Ann Lovatt, 3 down.
On Saturday July 14 the July Medal was played with the following result: 1 Helen Brian, net 70 (92 – 22); 2 Rosemary Macintyre, net 72 (84 – 12); 3 Ann Lovatt, net 83 (108 – 25).
On Sunday July 22 the Cameron Trophy was played with the following result: 1 Rosemary Macintyre, 38 points; 2 Helen Brian, 33 points; 3 Ann Lovatt, 27 points.
The Ben Nevis Distillery Golf Week took place from Monday July 16, with the following competitions:
On Monday July 16 a 12-hole, two-person Texas scramble was played with the following result: 1 Dougie Duncan and Davie Laing, 34 points; 2 Bruce Love and Neil Worsdall, 33 points; 3 Keith Sangster and Robert McCover, 32 points.
On Tuesday July 17 a 12-hole strokeplay competition was played with the following result: 1 Henry MacDonald, net 42 (50 – 8) (BIH); 2 James Duncan, net 42 (51 – 9 (BIH); 3 Alex Stewart, net 42 (52 – 10).
On Wednesday July 18 a 12-hole, three-person Texas scramble was played with the following result: 1 Stephen Howden, Graeme Worsdall and Neil Worsdall, 38 points; 2 David MacDonald, Tommy Disher and Mark Rydings, 37 points; 3 Davie Laing, Dougie Duncan and Keith Duncan, 36 points.
On Thursday July 19 a 12-hole Stableford competition was played with the following result: 1 Jason Wallace, 26 points (BIH); 2 Peter Laing, 26 points (BIH); 3 Stephen Howden, 26 points.
On Friday July 20 a 12-hole Stableford competition was played with the following result: 1 Marc MacDonald, 28 points; 2 Tommy Disher, 27 points (BIH).
