Newtonmore extended their lead at the top of the Marine Harvest Premiership, Kilmallie are favourites to win the Marine Harvest National Division, the Newtonmore second team lifted the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup and Strachur clinched the Marine Harvest South Division 2 title following the shinty action last Saturday.

Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup Final Newtonmore 5 Kingussie 2

(After extra-time)

The Newtonmore second team lifted the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup with a 4-2 extra-time derby win over the Kingussie second team in their 3pm throw up at the Dell.

This was a tight match and there were no goals until the stroke of halftime when the ball came to Calum Stewart just outside the box and he hit a low shot into the middle of the goal to give ’More a 1-0 interval lead.

Newtonmore will feel they deserved the advantage having hit the frame of the goal on four occasions during the first 45 minutes.

However, the match turned Kingussie’s way when player/manager Kevin Thain scored two quick goals on 67 and 69 minutes to put the Kings 2-1 in front.

For Thain’s first, he got in front of Iain Richardson and fired the ball low past ’More keeper Calum Grover and he then sent the ball high into the net from 20 yards out.

Newtonmore, who hit the woodwork twice more in the second half, drew level on 73 minutes when the ball fell to Calum Stewart and he struck a low, hard shot into the bottom corner from about 25 yards range to make it 2-2.

With no further scoring, referee Des McNulty took the final to an extra-time period.

Newtonmore regained the lead just three minutes into extra-time when the ball came to player/manager Orsten Gardner in the box and he hit a half-volley high into the middle of the goal to make it 3-2.

Just a minute later, Calum Stewart completed his hat-trick when he turned his marker and sent the ball low and hard into the bottom corner of the net from just outside the D.

Calum Stewart scored his fourth goal of the final just seconds from the end when he capitalised on some confusion between the Kingussie keeper and full back, nipping in to tap the ball into an empty net from a tight angle.

Newtonmore captain Stuart Mitchell, who played well at full back against Dylan Borthwick, was presented with the trophy and Newtonmore now add the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup to the Marine Harvest North Division 1 title and only the Fort William second team in the Strathdearn Cup Final stand between them and ‘the treble’.

Marine Harvest Premiership Kinlochshiel 3 Kyles Athletic 3

Kinlochshiel came from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Kyles Athletic on a warm day at Kirkton.

This was a second meeting in successive weeks for the sides after Kinlochshiel won 3-2 at Mossfield seven days earlier to lift the Artemis MacAulay Cup.

Kinlochshiel, starting up the slope, forced three corners during the first couple of minutes without creating any clear-cut chances.

Kyles came more into it and Dunkie Kerr, Roddy MacDonald and Grant Irvine had early shots wide of goal.

Roddy MacDonald ran in from Kyles’ right but scooped the ball just past keeper Scott Kennedy’s left post on 12 minutes and the visitor’s start was already much better than the previous week.

And they got their reward when they took the lead on 16 minutes. Gordon Whyte played the ball forward from midfield and with Finlay MacRae trying to clear the danger, Scott MacDonald nipped in to touch the ball to the side before hammering it into the roof of the net to make it 1-0.

John MacRae got a shot on target straight from the restart but John Whyte saved with his legs.

Dunkie Kerr sent the ball over the bar at one end and ’Shiel had to settle for a corner when John Whyte made a great save with his foot to deny Oliver MacRae after a quick passing move.

When Ross MacRae played in Grant Irvine 25 yards from goal, Scott Kennedy made a brilliant save, turning the ball away with his club, high above his head.

Scott Kennedy stopped a long ball from Gordon Whyte by his post with Grant Irvine looking to profit from any slip-up.

Scott MacDonald went close late in the half but, with the Kyles midfield of centre Gordon Whyte, flanked by Dunkie Kerr and Robbie MacLeod having a real grip of the midfield, and Andrew King dominant behind them, Kyles were unable to add to their tally despite having most of the first half pressure.

Kinlochshiel replaced Duncan Matheson with Scott MacLean at the interval but it was Kyles who doubled their lead on 48 minutes. Cammy Keith found Roddy MacDonald with a long ball forward. MacDonald turned to put the ball on his right side and his shot went by Finlay MacRae and an unsighted Scott Kennedy. There wasn’t that much power in the strike as the ball crossed the line and spun back out without actually hitting the back of the net.

’Shiel’s response was swift and they pulled a goal back on 51 minutes. Finlay MacRae sent a free-hit forward to Donald Nixon who flicked the ball to Paul MacRae and he found Scott MacLean who held off Callum Miller before driving a swerving shot high into the net from around 30 yards out and although John Whyte got his stick to the ball, he couldn’t keep it out.

John Whyte had no margin for error as he stopped a good Ali Nixon effort on the line and, as Kyles countered, Roddy MacDonald held off a tackle before sending the ball just the wrong side of the post.

Kyles withdrew Dunkie Kerr with Sandy MacKenzie joining the attack, Scott MacDonald going to centre and Gordon Whyte going to wing centre.

Play was quickly switching from one end to another and John MacRae went close when he took the ball down but fired just wide.

Roddy MacDonald caused panic in the home defence with 20 minutes remaining when he ran in from the right. The ball was touched on to Grant Irvine who saw his initial shot saved by Scott Kennedy but Irvine turned the rebound home from a tight angle. Referee Deek Cameron consulted with the goal judge with suggestions of a ‘kick’ in the lead up play but the goal stood.

Kyles took Colin MacDonald on for Ross MacRae. However, MacRae returned to the field on 81 minutes, replacing Cammy Keith in defence after the Kyles captain left the field with a hand injury.

’Shiel never let their heads drop and they set up a grand-stand finish with a goal on 83 minutes. Donald Nixon sent in a corner from the left and John MacRae stretched highest to knock the ball down, beating the keeper by his right post.

’Shiel sensed the chance to save a point and Oliver MacRae found space at the back post but his attempt went past the post.

John MacRae fired a shot over from a free-hit with four minutes remaining and it felt like a home goal was coming.

It duly arrived with just a couple of minutes remaining. Referee Deek Cameron penalised Kyles defender Neil MacVicar for a ‘kick’ between the D and the penalty spot as he dealt with Duncan ‘DA’ MacRae’s ball into the danger-area. Oliver MacRae played the free-hit back to John MacRae and he beat John Whyte by his right post to make it 3-3.

There were late chances at both ends before Deek Cameron brought proceedings to an end after three minutes’ injury time.

The draw was harsh on Kyles whilst ’Shiel demonstrated the benefits that can come from never giving up.

Newtonmore 5 Caberfeidh 0

Newtonmore extended their lead at the top of the Marine Harvest Premiership to four points when they beat Caberfeidh 5-0 in their noon throw up at the Eilan.

Glen MacKintosh’s opening goal was probably the best of the five Newtonmore strikes. MacKintosh turned his man about 20 yards out and neatly finished into the bottom corner of the net on his backhand.

Glen MacKintosh got his and Newtonmore’s second on 30 minutes and it remained 2-0 until the interval.

The goals flowed in the second half and Fraser MacKintosh on 54 minutes. Evan Menzies on 68 minutes and Ewan Fraser on 73 minutes

made up the 5-0 win.

Newtonmore could have won by more but for some fantastic goalkeeping from Ewen Pilcher.

The day’s results leave Newtonmore in a strong position at the top of the table and their remaining three league games scheduled during a busy September, which also includes a Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final against Lovat, are at home to Kinlochshiel and Oban Camanachd and away to Kyles Athletic.

Lovat 2 Kingussie 1

Lovat go second in the division after they defeated Kingussie 2-1 in their 11.30am throw up at Balgate.

Lovat lost defender Daniel Grieve with a head cut on 10 minutes although he did return to the field of play before the end of the game. Rory Gallacher came on in his place.

Kingussie enjoyed most of the early pressure so it was against the run of play on 17 minutes when Thomas Fraser’s shot was saved by Kingussie keeper Craig Dawson. The rebound came back out to Greg Matheson who hit the post.

Lovat broke the deadlock on 33 minutes following a free-hit outside the D. The ball was played out to Greg Matheson who cleverly pulled the ball back to avoid Robert Mabon’s blocking challenge and the Scotland forward scored with a waist-high shot.

Kingussie equalised just four minutes later when Ruaridh Anderson scored from between the penalty spot and the D. There was a claim for offside and referee Graham Cameron only awarded the goal after consulting with the goal judge.

Kingussie just lacked that cutting edge though and they had to settle for going into the interval on level terms.

It was a game of few clear chances and the winning goal came when Greg Matheson, as he has done several times this season, scored late in the game. Lovat were awarded a free-hit wide on the right on 82 minutes. Manager Fraser Gallacher took the opportunity to throw both Lorne MacKay and Callum Cruden into the attack in place of Graeme MacMillan and Thomas Fraser before the set-piece could be taken. Mark MacLachlan scooped the dead ball into the danger-area and, with Callum Cruden in attendance, Greg Matheson managed to steer the ball into the net despite falling as he did so.

Lovat are now four points behind Newtonmore with the same number of games played.

Lochaber 2 Oban Camanachd 6

Oban Camanachd made it four successive wins when they beat Lochaber 6-2 in their 3pm throw up at Spean Bridge.

Oban Camanachd suffered a blow on 10 minutes when Connor Howe was forced off with a hamstring problem. Howe must now be in doubt for the South U21 against the North U21 in this Saturday’s Caol Cup clash which is a 1pm start at Craigard. Craig MacDougall came on in his place.

Scott MacMillan started up front for the Oban side and he gave them the lead on 15 minutes. MacMillan hit a 20-yard shot which came back off the post to the keeper’s right. The ball came straight back to MacMillan who struck the ball towards almost the same spot but this time just inside the post, into the bottom corner of the net.

Lochaber drew level five minutes later when a ball down the left was played across to an unmarked Stuart Callison who was running in at the back post and he had time to line up his shot before scoring.

Andrew MacCuish restored Oban Camanachd’s lead on 24 minutes. There was a scramble in the goal area and MacCuish ran in to score with MacCuish, the keeper and the ball all ending up in the back of the net.

And MacCuish made it 3-1 with a superb finish just a couple of minutes later. Scott MacMillan found MacCuish who ran away from his marker and his half-swing sent the ball into the top corner of the net from the Oban right.

MacCuish almost had another as he took down a corner to score but the effort was ruled out for offside on the advice of the goal judge so the visitors led 3-1 at the break.

It was to prove to be a physical second half which threatened to boil over at times.

Andrew MacCuish did complete his hat-trick five minutes after the restart. Scott MacMillan surged forward and was sandwiched between a couple of Lochaber defenders inside the D. Referee Graham Cameron pointed to the spot and MacCuish sent the penalty bouncing into the net, beating the goalie on his left side.

Daniel MacVicar made it 5-1 on 63 minutes when he ran round the defence to get on the end of an Andrew MacCuish free-hit and MacVicar fired a waist-high shot home.

Lochaber’s Shaun Nicolson was thwarted when Cameron Sutherland made a great save with his stick, keeping out Nicolson’s shoulder-high rocket shot.

Oban Camanachd defender Garry Lord had come off earlier in the half but he returned in the forward line for the closing stages when Andrew MacCuish had to come off with a cut mouth.

And Lord made his mark when Daniel Lafferty, who had also come off the bench, sent in a corner from the right and Garry Lord volleyed the ball into the net for what was a really good finish.

Lochaber had the final say deep into stoppage time when Shaun Nicolson turned his marker and crashed the ball into the top corner of the net from 15 yards.

Marine Harvest National Division Kilmallie 4 Fort William 0

Kilmallie moved within touching distance of the Marine Harvest National Division title when they beat local rivals Fort William 4-0 in their 3pm throw up at the Canal Parks

Fort William played well in the first half and it took a couple of good saves from Kilmallie keeper Shane Gillies to keep them at bay but it was Kilmallie who took a 1-0 lead into the interval with Liam Cameron scoring on 16 minutes. Cameron ran forward to dispose Fort William keeper Paul Mackay as he came out to the edge of his box and the Kilmallie man rolled it into the net.

Calum MacDougall made it 2-0 on 57 minutes when he beat Alistair McRae to the ball on the edge of the box, took a touch and, from a tight angle, put the ball past the keeper.

Liam MacDonald played a one-two with Craig MacIsaac on the hour, leaving MacDonald unmarked around the penalty spot and he hit the ball into the roof of the net.

Daniel Stewart rounded off the win on 72 minutes. A Bryan Mackay shot was deflected into the air and Daniel Stewart knocked the ball down past the keeper to make it 4-0.

Inveraray 5 Strathglass 0

Inveraray go second in the table after they beat Strathglass 5-0 at the Winterton.

The home side included youngster Allan Cameron in their squad whilst Strathglass missed the suspended Josh Fraser.

Lewis MacNicol scored from around the penalty spot on 10 minutes to give Inveraray the advantage. The strike hit the keeper but the power of the shot took the ball over the line.

Fraser Watt got a second on 15 minutes with a shot into the bottom corner after a ball was played to the back post.

It was Watt again on the half-hour mark as he sent the ball into the bottom corner of the goal from between the penalty spot and the D to make it 3-0 at the break.

Fraser Watt completed his hat-

trick just five minutes into the second half when several players challenged for a high ball from a corner and the ball broke out to Watt who fired goalwards. The keeper got a foot to the ball but it went into the roof of the net.

Garry McPherson made it 5-0 with just 12 minutes remaining. MacPherson shot from an angle and the ball went low and hard past the keeper.

Inveraray are now a point ahead of third placed Fort William with both sides having two games to go. Glasgow Mid Argyll are also still in the mix and they have four games remaining.

Beauly 1 Inverness 1

Beauly and Inverness drew 1-1 in their 6.30pm throw up at Braeview Park on Thursday August 23.

Beauly missed an early penalty but went on to dominate the 90 minutes.

However it was Inverness who took the lead midway through the first half when Andy Reid charged down a clearance to score.

It looked as if it just wouldn’t be Beauly’s day until Calum Flynn scored four minutes into injury time with the Inverness players claiming in vain for a free-hit in the lead up to the goal.

Glasgow Mid Argyll A Oban Celtic A

The 12.30pm throw up between Glasgow Mid Argyll and Oban Celtic at Yoker was abandoned with GMA leading 3-0.

Referee Robert Baxter brought proceedings to an end early in the second half after his decision to send off Oban Celtic’s Callum MacLean was disputed.

Marine Harvest North Division 1 Fort William 4 Glengarry 2

The match between the Fort William second team and Glengarry at An Aird was brought forward to Thursday August 23 with a 6.30pm throw up.

Glengarry struck first with Nick Dalgety giving them an 18-minute lead.

Lewis Morrison levelled on 28 minutes and that’s the way it stayed until Fort William took a grip on the match late in the half.

Jay MacLeod put the Fort ahead on 44 minutes and then, on the stroke of half-time, referee Alex MacVicar awarded the Fort a penalty and Greig Kelly stepped up to score from the spot to make it 3-1 at the break.

There was no further scoring until late in the game. ’Garry’s Nick Dalgety got his second on 81 minutes to make it 3-2 but there was to be no comeback as Grant Disher made it 4-2 just 3 minutes later.

The win takes Fort William to third place in the table, just two points behind second place Glengarry and with two games in hand.

Skye Camanachd 4 Aberdeen University 1

Ross Gordon and Martin Pringle both scored a goal in each half as the Skye Camanachd second team overcame Aberdeen University 4-1 in their 3pm throw up at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree.

Ross Gordon scored Skye’s opener on eight minutes and Martin Pringle’s 31-minute effort gave the Islanders a 2-0 interval lead.

Martin Pringle got his second and Skye’s third on 49 minutes and although Jamie Beaton pulled a goal back on 63 minutes, Ross Gordon got his second on 79 minutes to make the final score 4-1.

Marine Harvest South Division 1 Kyles Athletic 0 Bute 0

The top of the table clash between the Kyles Athletic second team and Bute at Tighnabruaich ended goalless.

Bute went close to scoring on two occasions with Robert Walker hitting the post in the first half and an Iain McDonald strike coming back off the crossbar in the second period.

Kyles stay a point ahead of Bute and both teams have four games to go including a return clash at The Meadow.

Lochside Rovers 7 Kilmory 0

Lochside Rovers were too strong for Kilmory, winning 7-0 in their 1.30pm throw up at Ganavan.

Good wide play on the left from Michael MacQueen set up a chance for Lewis Buchanan on seven minutes and Buchanan scored from the penalty spot, sending the ball low and hard to the keeper’s right.

Lewis Buchanan got his second on 11 minutes, this time with a smart low finish after good work from Euan Logan and Callum Kirsop to win possession by the corner flag.

Lennon Campbell blasted the ball into the roof of the net on 30 minutes following a fine Callum Kirsop run and, with 10 first half minutes remaining, Euan Logan drove the ball into the corner of the net from around the penalty spot to make it 4-0.

Lochside keeper Brian MacCallum was called into action before the break, tipping an Alister MacArthur shot over the bar with his stick.

Lochside’s Lennon Campbell was sent off by referee Ewen MacDonald after a clash with Sandy Leiper and Campbell will now miss the Bullough Cup final. Scott Robertson came on and Lochside played with three forwards.

Michael MacQueen made it 5-0 just three minutes into the second half when he hit a low 30-yard shot from wide on the right past an unsighted keeper.

Kilmory were then reduced to 11 players when Sandy Leiper was sent off.

Iain MacMillan played well in his first match back for Lochside following a shoulder injury and he did well to find Ross MacMillan who played the ball to Lewis Buchanan and he squared to Michael MacQueen who fired home to make it 6-0 with 61 minutes on the clock.

Lochside saved the best until last with a magnificent individual goal from Michael MacQueen. There seemed no danger when MacQueen gathered the ball by the corner flag on the Lochside left but he flicked the ball over his marker and juggled the ball along the by-line as he made for goal. With the keeper coming off his line, MacQueen, still with the ball in the air, lobbed the ball over the advancing goalie and into the net to complete his hat-trick and make it 7-0.

Third placed Lochside are now right back in title contention and they trail Bute by a point and leaders Kyles Athletic reserves by two points with all three teams having just four games to go.

Col Glen 2 Aberdour 2

Aberdour scored twice in the last 15 minutes to draw 2-2 with Col Glen at Glendaruel.

Col Glen had the better of the first half but all they had to show for their efforts was a Connor Kennedy goal on 25 minutes.

Aberdour came close to an equaliser when Angus Thorburn was denied by the keeper before Scott MacVicar put the hosts 2-0 ahead with just 20 minutes remaining.

Angus Thorburn halved the deficit just five minutes later when he pushed the ball home.

Roddy MacColl earned Aberdour a point when he ran in to score on 88 minutes, making it 2-2.

Taynuilt 3 Tayforth 3

Taynuilt and Tayforth shared the points in a match played at Ganavan Oban due to Taynuilt’s pitch being unavailable.

Tayforth brought a full-strength team including Neil MacPhee, ex-Fort William, as they attempt to avoid relegation.

Taynuilt started brightly but were shocked after six minutes when, in their first attack, Finlay Stark struck a low shot through a ruck of players which deceived keeper Brian Logan and finished in the back of the net.

Taynuilt continued to have their fair share of the game but their old failing of not taking their chances was still evident.

Taynuilt made a change to their set up after 30 minutes, bringing on the veteran Stewart Scott to add some bite to their forward line, and this paid off as he equalised with a brilliant volley after 40 minutes.

A minute later Taynuilt were in front when Scot Dempster reacted quickest to a loose ball to flick it past keeper MacInnes to put the hosts ahead at half time.

Tayforth must have been shellshocked to be behind but came storming out after the break and they drew level after 46 minutes. A free-hit was not cleared by the defence and Finlay Stark smashed the ball past Logan.

Two minutes later Tayforth were back in front. Logan saved the initial shot but Sean Taylor put the rebound into the empty net to restore the lead.

It looked as if Taynuilt were out of it as Tayforth started to dominate possession and looked to increase their lead but, after 70 minutes, that man Stewart Scott came to the rescue when he struck a 30-yard shot high past the keeper to bring Taynuilt level.

Tayforth had a chance to win the game 10 minutes from time when they were awarded a penalty but Finlay Stark pulled the ball wide of the post.

Taynuilt held out for the last few minutes and a draw was about the right result.

The game was well refereed by Alex MacVicar and both teams are to be congratulated on their efforts.

Ballachulish 8 Inveraray 0

Ballachulish were relentless as they beat the Inveraray second team 8-0 at the Jubilee Park.

Inveraray missed the experience of David MacPherson who was unavailable whilst youngster Allan Cameron was with the first team.

Balla’ set an early marker with Alan Clark scoring on seven minutes.

When referee John MacRitchie awarded the hosts a penalty on 18 minutes, Duncan MacDonald made no mistake from the spot.

Two goals late in the half gave Balla’ a 4-0 interval lead with Duncan MacDonald getting his second on 43 minutes and Alan Clark doing like-wise on the stroke of half time.

Duncan MacDonald took his tally to four goals with efforts on 60 and 64 minutes, either side of a 62-minute Lorne Brown strike.

Scott Henderson rounded off the scoring 10 minutes from time.

Balla’ are showing a bit of form; having now taken seven from the last eight available league points.

Marine Harvest North Division 2 Beauly 0 Caberfeidh 5

The Caberfeidh seconds kept the pressure on league leaders Lovat seconds at the top of the league as they beat the Beauly seconds 5-0 in their 6.30pm throw up at Braeview Park on Wednesday August 22.

Ruaridh MacLeman scored twice with David Mellis, Colin MacLennan and Calum MacKinnon getting the others.

Beauly’s cause wasn’t helped when keeper Lee Dunbar was sent off with more than 30 minutes remaining.

The win lifted Cabers into second place in the table, six points behind the Lovat seconds with a game in hand, ahead of the weekend fixtures.

Lovat 2 Lochcarron 1

The Lovat second team need just one more point to clinch the Marine Harvest North Division 2 title, and promotion to North 1, after they defeated Lochcarron 2-1 in their 3pm throw up at Balgate.

Lovat started with Martin Mainland at full centre as he had served his one-match suspension earlier in the day. Lovat’s Chris Johnston featured in both matches, clocking up 180 minutes of shinty during the day.

Lochcarron were without Sean MacCuish and Douglas MacKenzie whilst David Bauermeister was on the bench after injury.

Lochcarron keeper Iain Cameron stood between Lovat and an opening goal when he made great saves from Cameron MacMillan on seven minutes and Raymond Rennie just 10 minutes later.

But they made the breakthrough on 18 minutes. Cameron MacMillan collected a loose ball and he powered a back-hand strike high into the net to make it 1-0.

Lochcarron then went on to enjoy a period of pressure with Crisdean Finlayson excellent in midfield and they levelled on 34 minutes when Neil Arnott latched onto a bouncing ball into the goal area and he volleyed the ball into the net.

Lovat full forward Raymond Rennie was having a great, physical battle with Lochcarron full back

David MacCuish but there was nothing MacCuish could do to prevent Rennie scoring a magnificent goal on 57 minutes.

Rennie lifted a long ball forward into the air and he turned and smashed the dropping ball into the net for a goal that deserved to win any game.

Lochaber 5 Inverness 6

The Lochaber second team scored five times but lost 6-5 to the Inverness second team in their noon throw up at Spean Bridge.

Lachlan Campbell grabbed a Lochaber hat-trick with Robbie Rydings and Keith Neville getting the others.

Doubles from Jack Craig, Andy Reid and Rory MacLennan gave Inverness victory.

Kilmallie 2 Strathglass 0

The Kilmallie colts beat the Strathglass colts 2-0 in their noon throw up at the Canal Parks.

The goals came late in the game with Phillip Fyfe giving Kilmallie the lead on 77 minutes and Andrew Gibb making it 2-0 just three minutes later.

Lewis Camanachd 2 Boleskine 4

Boleskine saw off a Lewis Camanachd fight-back to win 4-2 at Shawbost.

William MacKinnon gave Boleskine a 17-minute lead with what was the only goal of the first half.

When referee Henry MacInnes awarded Boleskine a penalty on 63 minutes, Stuart MacRae stepped up to score from the spot.

Scott MacLeod pulled a Lewis goal back just a couple of minutes later and Stuart MacRitchie made it 2-2 on 66 minutes.

Ross Anderson put Boleskine back in front on 69 minutes and they remained 3-2 ahead until 90 minutes when William MacKinnon scored his second goal of the game to make it 4-2.

Marine Harvest South Division 2 Strachur 2 Glasgow Mid Argyll 1

Strachur clinched the Marine Harvest South Division 2 title, and promotion to Marine Harvest South Division 1, following their 2-1 win over the Glasgow Mid Argyll reserves at Strachurmore.

GMA led 1-0 at the break with John Angus Gillies scoring on 33 minutes.

Ian MacLennan drew Strachur level with a goal a couple of minutes into the second half.

And that’s the way it stayed until five minutes from time when Strachur’s James Roy scored the goal that clinched the title.
