Lochaber Local History Society welcomes back historian Iain Rose, who will talk on Living in the Highlands 1740 at 8pm on Thursday September 6, at the Ben Nevis Hotel. Everyone welcome. Iain will offer a picture of life in Fort William nearly 300 years ago.

Kilmallie Singers starts its new season on Thursday September

6 in Kilmallie Church of Scotland Hall, Caol, at 8pm. A brief annual general meeting will be followed by a sing-along led by conductor Catherine Cameron. New members welcome.

As part of World Suicide Prevention Day a ‘walk in memory’ will be held on Sunday September 9 from Caol Community Centre at noon. After, free tea and coffee will be served at the centre. There will also be a bouncy castle, raffle and stalls with helpful informatio­n about suicide prevention. The topic at the next meeting of Fort William Photograph­ic Society is Problem Pictures. Using members' photos, experience­d photograph­er Keith Thorburn will explain how to improve images using Photoshop. The meeting is at 7pm in the Salvation Army hall on Tuesday September 11.

A Bus Users’ Group meeting will take place on Friday September 14 at 11.30am at Duncansbur­gh MacIntosh Church Hall, Fort William.

Part two of Lochaber Sensory Care’s annual general meeting is being held in Fort William on Saturday September 15 in the Alexandra Hotel from 2pm until 4pm.

Lochaber Sports Associatio­n is hosting its annual general meeting on Wednesday September 26 at 6.30pm at Lochaber Rugby Club, Banavie.
