Delight at number of flower and produce show entries

Nether Lochaber Flower and Produce Show took place last week with a good number of entries, especially from junior growers and florists.

From knitting and handicraft­s to flower baskets and garden vegetables, this year’s produce show had plenty to offer as members of the public browsed the various entries on display at Nether Lochaber Village Hall.

Organiser Marie Ann Cameron said: ‘It was lovely to see some new names and we hope they will continue to support the show in 2019.’

Prizewinne­rs: Home baking: Most points, Onich Hotel Cup, Sandra Cameron.

Runner up in points, Lodge on the Loch cup, Elaine Cameron.

Showstoppe­r shield, Cameron Memorial Shield, Sandra Cameron.

Produce: MacKintosh Corran Cup, Sandra Cameron and Jill Morrow.

Knitting: Corran Bar Trophy, Sandra Shaw.

Handicraft­s: Camus na gaul Cup, Jennifer Jarl.

Floral decoration: Marjorie Summers Trophy, Liz Ross.

Floral: Most points, Gleaner Oil Cup, Jessie Maclean and Harrison Wyatt.

Runner up: Old Manse Trophy, Alex Cameron.

Garden produce: Old School Cup, Jill Morrow.

Most points overall in show: Nether Lochaber Community Council Rose Bowl, Alex Cameron. Runner-up: Callart Quaich, Jill Morrow.

Best entry in show: George Ross Memorial Cup, Liz Ross for rhubarb.
