Oban – United Auctions on Tuesday August 28 sold 3,224 lambs and sheep at their third sale held within Oban Livestock Centre. A good attendance of buyers were present and all stock was cleared as levels above sellers’ expectatio­ns. Lambs sold to £68 for Texel crosses from Park Farm, Kilninver and averaged £46.39 per head, recording a rise of £2.58 on the correspond­ing sale last year. Principal lots and prices: Lambs:

The lamb average showed a decrease of £4.34 on the correspond­ing sale last year due to smaller lambs being the most difficult to sell.
