Dalmally – United Auctions sold 2,797 lambs and sheep at Dalmally Auction Mart on Saturday September 15. Lambs levelled out at £38.57 recording a rise of £2.38 on the year. Lambs consisted of second and third draws and sold to a good ringside of buyers. Principal lots and prices:

Heifers (216) averaged 221.7p (-40.5p on the year) and sold to 275.0p per kg for a pen of 200kg Simmental crosses from Kilfiniche­n Farms, Mull, and £880 gross for a 435kg Limousin cross from Fersit. Young bulls (2) sold to £620 gross for a 325kg Limousin cross from Dunlichity Farm.

Breeding cattle (one) sold to £1,050 gross for a Luing cross cow with a male calf at foot from Culmill, Kiltarlity. OTM cattle (6) sold to 100.8p per kg and £670 gross for a 665kg Luing cow from Isle of Muck Farms, Isle of Muck.
