Sweet music at Three Lochs Festival

-

Final preparations are under way for this year’s Three Lochs Festival, which takes place this Saturday and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The festival of arts and literature takes place every two years in Strontian, and is well worth the effort of getting along to.

Anyone who has been before can vouch for the varied programme of activities laid-on for all ages and interests, including drama, music, film, photography and, of course, lots of books and literature.

This year one of the actors from the hugely popular Outlander television series will be sharing some behindthe-scenes secrets.

This year’s festival kicks off with a musical production of No Petticoats Here by Louise Jordan at The Highland Bookshop in Fort William tonight (Thursday) and closes with a contemporary folk music evening in Strontian, from BBC Radio Two Folk Musician of the Year Tim Edey, ably supported by Jed Grimes.

Aspiring writers will benefit from the range of practical workshops led by successful published authors.

Anyone with an interest in nature, wildlife and the environment has a range of interesting talks to attend, including two from national wildlife hero Jim Crumley.

One of the best things about Three Lochs is that there are activities throughout the day for young ones, many of which they can be safely left at, while parents go and do something different.

Tickets to all activities are available online or at the door. More information available from www.threelochs.co.uk or email: info@threelochs. co.uk
