‘Pop-up’ event proves a hit

Linking the Lochaber Rotary Club’s second ‘pop-up’ café event of the season with a craft fair proved a winner with the public, as more than 150 people ‘popped’ in for refreshments and lunches.

The event, which was held in the Duncansburgh MacIntosh Church Hall in Fort William on Saturday, had it all, with an array of craftware, the Rotary ‘Children’s Bedtime Stories from the Scottish Highlands’ book stall and the busy café with its hearty home-cooked lunches and delicious baking.

Club president Iain Johnston was delighted with the level of public support. ‘We welcomed well over 150 locals and visitors. The hall had a terrific buzz with all the activity and our charity book stall was very well patronised,’ he said.

‘Thanks again to the generous Lochaber public, to my rotary colleagues and to the stallholders for making the day a great success.’

Craft fair organiser Chris Heardman added: ‘Combining the pop-up cafe and the craft fair worked really well and created a wonderful atmosphere.

‘The crafters all had a great day and we look forward to collaborating once again on Saturday October 27 for our early Christmas fair.’

The early Christmas fair is from 11am to 3pm in the Duncansburgh MacIntosh Hall.

Tea/coffee and cake/traybake will be available from 11am to 3pm, with soup and sandwiches being served from noon to 2pm. To book a craft stall, contact Chris at 07900 928515.
