Saturday November 24: Beinn Eunaich and Beinn a’ Chochuill, Dalmally A traverse over two Munros with close views of the Ben Cruachan Horseshoe and long views of Loch Awe and rolling hills of Argyll to the south.

Start on the B8077 from the bridge over the Allt Mhoille at NN136288, where limited parking is available. More parking space is available at the junction of the A85 and B8077, ½Km SW. Head N on the track on the E side of the river, forking NW at a junction before Castles Fm. Walk up the track for about ½km then climb steeply up the ridge of the spur of Stob Maol. There are some scrambling opportunit­ies.

Beyond Stob Maol, the angle decreases. Continue climbing the ridge which narrows, curving NE to the summit of Beinn Eunaich, 989m. Descend W to a col then climb gradually up the long E ridge of Beinn a’ Chochuill to its summit, 980m. Turn SSW and head down steeply to the Lairig Noe, 564m. Descend SE to reach the hydro track and follow it down to rejoin the outward track above Castles Fm.

Grade: S; distance: 14km; height to climb: 1242m; map(s): LR50, EX377. Meet at Longsdale car park, Oban, at 8.50am or Glencoe village car park at 8.30am, for start of walk at 10am. Leader: Andrew Gilbert 07808 924722.

Thursday November 29: Beinn a’ Chrulaiste and Meall Bhalach, Glen Coe This popular hill is isolated from, but affords remarkable views of its neighbours, especially of Buachaille Etive Mor. On this occasion, the ascent is by its E ridge.

As a result of continuing works at Kings House, start from the Glencoe SC, NN266525, where ample parking and refreshmen­ts are available. Head N on the minor road to cross the A82 and follow the WHW to Kings House. Cross the river and turn E on a track to the bridge over the Allt a’ Bhalaich.

Follow this burn N on its W side up to the 400m contour. Turn W and climb the rough and rocky ridge to the summit of Beinn a’ Chrulaiste, 857m. Turn N and follow the ridge, curving E down to a broad col at 629m, then continue E up to the summit of Meall Bhalach, 708m. Continue SE to its other summit at 705m. Turn SSW, descend the steep slope directly to Kings House and return to the SC.

Grade: M+; distance: 14km; height to climb: 834m; map(s): LR41, EX384. Meet at Glencoe village car park at 8.35am, for start of walk at 9am. Leader: Helen Critchley Ian Moir 07973 836498.

Sunday November 25: Am Bodach, Sron Gharbh and A’ Chailleach, Glen Coe Start at the parking at the foot of Am Bodach and head up the steep ridge as for the Aonach Eagach.

From the summit of Am Bodach descend NE then follow the ridge over to Sron Garbh. Continue SE around the rim of the corrie then NE again up to the 903m summit of A’ Chailleach. Descend the broad ridge SE to a low point at the back of a S facing corrie at NN195578 then follow the E side of this corrie curving SW down to meet the old road. Cross the river near the large cairn to the car park.

If the river is in spate descent can be made E to Stob Mhic Mhartuin and the Devil’s staircase down to the road at Altnafeadh.
