Healthy Working Lives Award for Mid Argyll

-

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) has announced that its Mid Argyll locality has maintained its Healthy Working Lives Gold Award.

Alison McGrory, health improvement principal for the HSCP, said: ‘I am delighted that the Mid Argyll locality has maintained its Healthy Working Lives Gold Award. This is good news for the Health and Social Care Partnership as it highlights our continued commitment to the health and wellbeing of staff.

‘To maintain this award, the locality held a series of activities and events to help promote and encourage a healthier workforce.

‘These activities included a Tea and Talk event to raise awareness of mental health on Mental Health World Day, regular Zumba classes held onsite, an outdoor gym, a lunchtime walking club and staff participating in Wear it Pink day to promote breast cancer awareness.

‘There is also the Blarbuie Woodland 66-day challenge which was launched in October. This is all about establishing new healthy habits such as walking, cycling and running. All of this helps people change their lifestyle habits and it is called the 66-day challenge as research highlights that it takes 66 days for a habit to embed itself thoroughly into a person’s lifestyle.

‘The locality also has plans and ideas for the forthcoming year to ensure it continues to maintain its gold award for the foreseeable future.’
