NEW YEAR – NEW OPPORTUNITIES!

-

What’s more important than a choice about your future? This is a great time of year to plan ahead and set yourself some ambitious targets for 2019. At Argyll College UHI we’ve got some great new courses that can help you unlock new and exciting career opportunities.

Available at any of our learning centres, the new, 18-week, Entrepreneurial Skills NPA will give you a great introduction into running a small business and could set you on the road to self-employment. You’ll develop personal attributes such as interview skills, customer service and IT skills, which will prepare you for work in any field. The course will also promote entrepreneurial skills such as developing a business idea, business planning, job costing and cashflow planning – skills and knowledge that could help you start your own business, or provide underpinning knowledge for further study in a businessrelated subject.

The part-time Introduction to Childhood Practice is perfect for anyone wanting to make a career working with small children but who doesn’t yet have entry requirements for full-time courses.

Over 18 weeks you’ll gain the basic knowledge which will allow you to progress to a full-time Early Years course in September. This is a great stepping stone which will give you more time devoted in class to develop your knowledge, at a pace that is achievable for those who’ve been away from education for a while.

We have a Maritime Skills course available in Oban or Lochgilphead. This combines SQA and RYA/MCA certification so you’ll receive a comprehensive introduction to the maritime industries, as well as gaining internationally recognised certificates.

As an academic partner of the University of the Highlands & Islands, Argyll College also gives you access to a wide range of part time and full-time degree programmes many of which can be started at the end of January.

We also have a range of part-time courses which can help improve your skills and enhance your chances of getting a job.

Visit our website or call us to find out what’s available at your local Argyll College centre. Your future is just a click away.
