Funeral donation for Kilmallie Shinty Club

-

Kilmallie Shinty Club says it is deeply grateful for the very generous donation of £850 presented to the club recently.

The money is the proceeds of the retiring collection at the funeral of Lynsey MacPherson on January 12.

The same amount has also been given to Lochaber Artistic Roller Skating Club.

On its Facebook page, Kilmallie Shinty Club stated: ‘We really appreciate this amazing amount raised which shows how much Lynsey and her family meant to the large congregation that attended the funeral.

‘We continue to think of her husband Mark, better known as Archie, brothers Stephen and Andrew, dad Ronnie, Ronnie’s partner Veronica and the wider family and know that after the funeral is past the loss can feel so great.

‘Our thoughts go out to them. Tribute was paid to Lynsey by our club chairman at the club AGM and we remember her for being the rock behind Mark throughout his years as player and latterly manager; for her cheerful witty support at games and for practical support in, for example, washing the team strips week in, week out. We are glad Archie will continue his sterling work with the club this year as assistant manager and also in taking youth training at Banavie primary – both jobs we know he will put his characteristic passion into and we are glad to see Stephen and Andrew back at training.’
