Tobermory pipe band spices up fundraiser
It was a packed Aros Hall on Saturday March 2 for a curry night fundraiser for Tobermory High School Pipe Band.
A magnificent three-course spread of starters, curries and desserts was laid on.
The event was a great effort and congratulations and a huge thank you go to the many people who prepared, cooked and gave of their time in this, and all those who tastefully decorated the hall, as well as the many who donated so many lovely raffle prizes.
After the meal, Pipe Major Calum MacLean and the pipe band gave a number of stirring selections.
It was fantastic to see the stage and the front of the hall filled with the large turnout of pipers and drummers, seeing how far the band has come.
Pipers on the night, resplendent in their uniforms, also showed their versatility by waiting at tables.
It was heartening to see the turnout on the night.
All those involved with the band are grateful for the marvellous support they receive from the community.
March 10 saw the band competing at the Scottish Schools Championships in Livingston.
This year a number of young members made their debut with the band.
Again a special thank you was made to everyone who gave their time to travel with the young people to make it all possible.
It has been a busy but productive couple of weeks for everyone involved with the band.
