Glen Spean Brewing Co toasts success

-

Glen Spean Brewing Co, based in Spean Bridge, is celebrating after being awarded Best Brewed Beer for its Snowgoose craft premium lager at the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards (HIFAD) 2019.

HIFAD celebrates passion, quality and innovation across the region, highlighting businesses that are helping put the Highlands and Islands on the map.

The awards dinner and ceremony took place at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness and was hosted by broadcaster Jennifer Reoch.

Glen Spean Brewing Co was established in February 2017 by co-founders and Spean Bridge residents Ian Peter MacDonald, James Leggett and Lucy Hicks.

From the brewery, in the historic site of Tirindrish in Spean Bridge, they have faithfully converted a mid19th century cowshed from where they produce a supply of distinct and skilfully crafted beers, employing local talent and resources to deliver products throughout Scotland.

The brewery’s Snowgoose is a premium craft lager (ABV 4.5%). Aiming for a rounded malty crafted lager, with a rich full flavour, brewer James Leggett created Snowgoose in the late summer of 2018.

The product was an immediate success and a best-seller, being available in both kegs and bottle throughout Lochaber.

Glen Spean Brewing Co’s range also includes Highbridge IPA, Glen Spean Pale Blonde and Red Revival, and next season we see it launching further beers to the range.

Glen Spean Brewing’s sales director, Mr MacDonald, said the company was delighted. ‘We are so grateful to all our customers who have helped us achieve our success so far.’
