Fort FC chairman says club will ban anyone who damages reputation

-

Fort William FC chairman Peter Murphy says anyone who damages the club’s reputation will be banned and, if necessary, reported to the police, following incidents that marred Saturday’s Highland League Cup home game against Fraserburgh.

In a statement, Mr Murphy said the club was investigating two incidents that occurred in the aftermath of the home cup tie and has appealed for witnesses to come forward.

He said: ‘We at Fort William FC will not accept any form of anti-social behaviour at our games.

Two incidents

‘We are aware of two incidents at the end of the game yesterday that we are currently investigating.

‘We will ban indefinitely anyone who brings down the reputation of our club and pass evidence to the police if necessary.’

That made it 0-1, but eight minutes later, on the 83rd minute mark, the Fort’s Ross Gunn tried a strike from 20 yards out only to see the Broch keeper save it and then spill the ball.

First goal

But the advancing Daryl Taylor needed no second invitation to tap the ball into the net with his first goal in a Fort shirt and level it 1-1.
