Pampered ladies are in the pink
This year’s Pink Ladies Day was held at the Loch Fyne Hotel in Inveraray on Friday December 6.
The Pink Ladies Day was organised by founder Nicky Murphy with help from hundreds of people who attended afternoon teas, bought raffle tickets, tombola tickets, sponsored a Twilight walk or simply donated money out of the goodness of their hearts.
Nicky said: ‘The Pink Ladies Day was founded in 2014 and now, in its sixth year, is established as a date on the calendar that many women really look forward to.
‘This event is for women who have experienced breast cancer first hand and they can bring along a special guest of their own to share the day with. The whole day is completely free and is paid for through various fundraising events and kind donors that give us money out of the goodness of their hearts.
‘This year we had 88 women there, all taking time out to enjoy a day of pampering, preening, good food – and wine! – fun and friendship. Some of our ladies have been coming along since day one and are a great inspiration to the women who are there for the first time, perhaps just having completed their treatment.
‘This year we had make-up artists, hairdressers, nail technicians, a Kundalini yoga teacher, Pilates teacher, massage therapists, beauticians and a pedicurist. Our volunteers come from far and wide, including Liverpool and London.
‘The Pink Ladies Day would not happen without the kindness and dedication of these women, all of whom run their own businesses and they give their skills and expertise at such a busy time of the year for them!
‘The staff and management at Crerar Hotels – Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa are also superb.’
