Santa’s plea for youngsters to find mischevious elves

-

In recent years, Santa Claus has taken to sending elves into some houses to help him prepare for Christmas Day, writes Kirsteen Bell.

The elves tend to be mischievous, making snow angels in flour, sledging down stairs on candy canes and drawing silly faces on oranges.

This year, however, elves in the Lochaber area have been coming out of their houses to spread the Christmas mischief.

Some elves have been hiding clues around shops and buildings in Caol and Corpach for a Christmas scavenger hunt to help planet Earth.

Rangers spotted what the elves were up to and have created a special answer sheet for children to find all the clues.

Once children have found all the clues and discovered fun facts about looking after the Earth – because of course Santa and the Elves have a lot of ground to cover – they can hand them in to Caol library for a chance to win a prize.

Answer forms are available from the Bake’n’Roll café in Caol, Caol Library and Corpach Co-op.

The elves have not stopped there though. West Highland Museum has also heard the elves will be targeting them next.

The museum elves have escaped and are hiding all over the museum.

Staff are having trouble finding them so are asking children to come in and help between Monday December 23 and Tuesday December 31. Once all the elves have been found, each child will receive a prize.

Santa Claus told the Lochaber Times: ‘The elves are a great help to me at this busy time of year, but they can be quite silly at times in their quest for Christmas fun.

‘I would be very grateful to the children of Lochaber if they were to keep an eye out for my elves.’
