An Oban beauty salon is celebrating after being recognised at the Scottish Wedding Awards 2020 in Glasgow.

Oro Rosa Make-up and Beauty, which opened in 2017 on Oban’s High Street, won the Central Scotland Hair and Make-Up Salon of the Year award on Tuesday night at a glitzy award ceremony in the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Owner Natalie Pacitti, who previously worked as a mobile beautician, said opening her own salon was a ‘dream come true’.

Natalie told The Oban Times: ‘I can’t believe I was even a finalist for such an amazing award, never mind a winner. When they called my name, I actually said, “Oh my god, that’s me”.

‘I was so nervous leading up to my category and as soon as I had won all my nerves disappeared and I was on a total high. I have never felt so many emotions at once. This means everything to me, to be recognised for something I love doing is amazing.

‘I can’t thank everyone who supports me enough. All my amazing clients, my gorgeous brides who ask me to be part of their special day, to my family and friends ... I couldn’t do any of it without them.’

Natalie said she feels so lucky to have turned a hobby into a career. ‘I love my job so much,’ she added.

‘I had always been interested in all things hair and beauty – this is my dream job. When a bride asks me to do her make-up for a wedding I feel so overwhelmed, it’s such a huge part of their day and to be picked to do that is an absolute honour.’

It is the eighth time the annual awards have taken place, with categories honouring wedding salons, photographers, planners, venues, entertainment, transport and suppliers.
