Young athletes produced record-breaking performances at the Mull Sports Hall Athletics at the weekend.

Girls under 13 champion Ellen MacRae from Salen broke two Mull age records. She won four out of the six events, starting with the standing long and triple jumps recording 2.01 metres and six metres respectively.

Next was the four-lap race which Ellen completed in 24.89 seconds, improving the old record set in 2014.

Ellen ended the day with victory in the speed bounce, recording 82 jumps in 30 seconds and improving the Mull age record.

Ellen’s twin sister Gemma won the high jump on countback, clearing 1.20 metres and finished third overall. Runner-up Evie Kellett, also from Salen, won the shot putt with a 5.33 metres effort.

Seren Johnston from Bunessan was the under sevens champion. After a close contest, she finished half a point ahead of Camryn Carmichael from Salen.
