WHERE IS THIS?

Another lockdown payday rolls around and I know the temptation is there to shop online, but we also have to think about what Oban is going to be like as we slowly work our way back to some semblance of normality.

Lots of local businesses are suffering just now and it’s going to be a hard slog for some of them to survive the next few months, so before you click onto online shops across the country have a wee think about where you could get the same thing locally. Check out the list in the Oban Times every week of the places that are open, is it a local shop that you could phone to have something delivered, such as Alba, or do they have an online shop themselves, such as Orsay?

With a little bit of thought and effort we can help our local businesses and shopkeepers get through the next wee while and with our support, perhaps, when things are opened up fully, there won’t be too many gaps where thriving businesses used to be.

Lots of businesses have adapted what they do to try and survive, and Facebook is a great way to contact them or find out what they can offer at the moment. Our LoveOban page is trying to keep up with what’s happening but if we’ve missed anything then let us know, we’re here to help.
