Fort hanging baskets brighten high street
Since the start of lockdown in March, the Fort William Town Team (FWTT) Committee continued to meet virtually to try to make plans for the town’s summer flower displays.
Usually they would have been arranging litter picks, plot tidy-ups, planting days and sponsored hanging baskets. The community organisation always keep their volunteers busy and really appreciate all of the support that comes from around the town.
But by the end of May it looked like there was little hope of achieving any of their annual projects, so a last ditch attempt was made to find suppliers.
With the help of Jamie Hail Lawn and Landscapes, who manage the watering of baskets, the Town Team sourced a delivery of 40 hanging baskets and 100 begonias from Growforth Limited based in Dunfermline.

now been installed too,’ a Town Team spokesperson told us this week.
‘All of the plants and baskets were being gifted to the community from FWTT to brighten the town for when we all came out of lockdown, but now almost 20 baskets have been happily sponsored by families and businesses instead, so thank you and your plaques will go up shortly.
‘All’s well that end’s well, as they say and although we may not have quite achieved last year’s numbers, we finally have flowers for 2020 and we really hope you can all get out and about to enjoy them.’
