Cosy for Christmas

-

Modern stove design has changed considerably over the past few years and there are now a number of freestanding models on the market which have been designed to fit fairly snugly into a corner situation without the need for any further fire-proofing. These stoves can also be situated onto a “superimposed hearth” of only 12mm thick, typically stone, steel or glass, removing the need to build up a constructional hearth underneath.

While all these modifications have made installation simpler and opened up more options as to where a stove can be sited, the greatest consideration should still be reserved for the situation of the chimney. A stove with a poorly functioning chimney is a bit like a TV with an aerial that doesn’t work – it doesn’t matter how much you spend on the most advanced model, if you can’t get a decent signal then the TV is useless! Similarly, in any installation, the chimney is just as important as the stove and this is why we devote a considerable amount of time to advising our customers where the best site for their stove and chimney is in order to ensure the most efficient and trouble-free installation possible. For further inspiration our website offers a wealth of information including a virtual showroom featuring many of the models we offer and our portfolio page showing some excellent examples of what can be achieved.
