Who was your Christmas Angel during Covid-19?

-

Oban FM has launched a new campaign to reward someone who has gone above and beyond during lockdown.

Supported by BID4Oban, the community radio station will present a ‘Christmas Angel’ with £50 of LoveOban vouchers just before Christmas.

The Christmas Angel will be someone who has pulled out all the stops to help the community this year – supported others by picking up prescriptions or shopping, for example; putting others’ needs before their own.

Writing on their website, Oban FM said: ‘This has been a challenging year for everyone, but if there’s one positive thing we can take from this pandemic, it’s the kindness and community spirit people have shown.’

Andrew Spence, chief executive of BID4Oban, said: ‘BID4Oban recognises this has been an exceptionally difficult year for many people in our community. Who would have thought this time last year we were going to face the trials and tribulations that 2020 has foisted on us?

‘We would like to recognise a true angel in our wonderful town who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and demonstrates true kindness and support through their actions. Many residents, businesses and organisations have risen to the challenges and gone the extra mile for others.’

If you know somebody who matches this description, you can nominate them by emailing sales@obanfm.scot, writing to Oban FM, 132 George Street, PA34 5NT, or visiting www.obanfm.scot.

Include your name and contact number, as well as your angel’s name, contact number, and the reasons you believe they deserve to win.

The closing date for entries is Tuesday December 22. There are no age restrictions on who can win, however, nominees must be local.
