WHERE IS THIS?

- KAY MCDONALD editor@obantimes.co.uk

What a good time we had judging the Christmas Window Competition, the effort that so many businesses have put into their Christmas decorations is really appreciated in these dreich times.

A special mention must go to some of the pubs who have added a real sparkle to winter evenings.

From the feedback we also know how much local businesses appreciate the effort that is going into shopping locally this year – it may make the difference that allows some businesses to survive into 2021. Hopefully this has started a new trend that will continue in future years now we realise the variety available in out wee town, who needs a big city!

The other businesses who have really shone lately are all our lovely cafes, with the restrictions on meeting at home, it’s been so nice to be able to meet friends for a cuppa and a cake in warm, friendly surroundings. Our cafes have risen to the occasion and the selection of cakes on offer has been fantastic, just what you need to cheer you up. Thank you so much to all of them for keeping us going and enabling us to meet up safely and enjoyably.

Our local hostelries have also done their part, too, in allowing us to have a wee glass of something with a nice meal in lovely festive surroundings, I must admit I’ve never eaten out so much in my life, and I love it.

Thank you again to everyone who’s efforts allow us to meet friends and family in comfort and safety.

The previous photograph was the Black Lynn outside our office and this one isn’t too far away.
