The Oban Times

Editorial team pledge continued commitment to Lochaber coverage

-

As many of our readers and advertisers may know, the Lochaber Times has now permanently closed its office in Fort William’s High Street and sold the property.

While the impact of the coronavirus crisis might have forced this unwelcome course of action, what it has not done is diminish our commitment to providing top quality news and sports coverage from across our region.

Which is why the Lochaber Times’ senior reporter Mark Entwistle, who lives in Lochaber, together with Fort Williambased photographer Iain Ferguson, are still on hand, ensuring the stories about life in Lochaber which are important to you are still given prominent coverage in our pages.

With 75 years’ combined experience between them of working on local and national newspapers, Mark and Iain know what makes a good story and what our readers want to see in the pages of the Lochaber Times and Lochaber Life magazine.

Mark said: ‘The virus pandemic has forced a great many people into adopting different ways of working. While the loss of our office was a blow, it came down to a question of how our readers and advertisers are best served and we felt this is best done by retaining experienced journalists on the ground, living and working in Lochaber. The closure of the office, while unfortunate, has allowed our reporting and photographic set-up, supported by our editorial colleagues at The Oban Times, to continue confidently into the future, providing quality editorial copy and photographs from this part of the Western Highlands.
