Tune in to Light Up The Dark project’s amazing live finale

-

This winter's Light up the Dark project, organised by Ewen's Room, draws to a close this Saturday, March 20, the spring equinox.

As people mark the end of winter, the turning of the seasons and the return of lighter evenings, the end of the first Light Up The Dark project will see an amazing live finale.

Light Up The Dark offered creative workshops, outdoor challenges, inspiration to star gaze, engage with nature, unleash creative spirits, learn new skills, share stories and join together even while a global pandemic kept people apart.

‘We have been delighted to partner with so many businesses, organisations and individuals across Lochaber and beyond,' a spokesperson for Ewen's Room told the Lochaber Times.

‘We have been overwhelmed and delighted at the hundreds of people who have shared the ways they have found to light up the dark this winter by joining our Facebook group, sharing on social media, attending our workshops and entering our competition.

‘While we are unable to gather together in person, we are bringing all of the light, creativity, joy and community spirit together for a celebration of music and arts.'

The finale will be hosted by singer songwriter Chiara Berardelli, who has led several of the songwriting workshops. It will take the form of a Facebook live event from the Nevis Radio studios from 7.30pm on Saturday.

‘We will be showcasing music from a host of artists including multi-award winning, world famous jazz guitarist Martin Taylor MBE, Arbor Green, Neil Ewart, Riska Ceilidh Band and more, along with the talented entries for our Light Up The Dark creative competition,' the spokesperson added.

Voting for the winners will take place during the event with the winners announced on the night. The event has been sponsored by FCH Storage, Wolfhouse Gym and The Moidart Trust.

For those interested in tuning in, RSVP on Facebook to https://www.facebook.com/ ewensroom/events and you'll be notified when the concert goes live on Saturday night.
