WHERE IS THIS?

As I write today, we see a return to school for some but not all pupils.

It was great to see Oban’s roads and pavements noticeably busier with youngsters heading off to school. For the time being some are returning part-time, but it is a start to getting back to normality.

Hopefully by the time this is printed, we will have further information on when lockdown will be eased.

With Mother’s Day last Sunday, by the looks of things there were plenty of lucky mums out there as some of the town’s supermarkets were sold out of flowers and gifts. There were also numerous photographs on social media of the great afternoon teas that some of our great cafés produced over the weekend.

The good news is many are planning to do the same over the Easter weekend, which is only two weeks away.

Best to checkout their social media pages and get your orders in early so they can plan ahead and ensure no-one is disappointed. The nights are starting to get a lot brighter, daffodils are out and spring is in the air. It’s been great to see lots of people still out walking and many cyclists on the road over the past few weeks.

It’s also time to start getting back out in the garden and lots of the supermarkets and garden centres have started selling spring bedding plants, garden furniture and barbecues. Here’s hoping the Easter weekend will enjoy nice weather so we can all get outside for a barbecue.

As usual, the town’s butchers will be doing their bit to make sure there is no shortage of burgers and other treats available.
