Author to share how personal experience led to publication
Writers are being invited to join literary agent Jenny Brown when she sits down with author Bridget McNulty in a webinar hosted by creative support organisation XpoNorth.
Bridget will be sharing her insights into how she turned a need for support into an internationally published book, The Grief Handbook, at the event on Wednesday July 28.
When Bridget lost her mum suddenly, she couldn’t find the support she needed. Looking to help others facing a similar problem, she set about writing The Grief Handbook to ensure there was practical and sympathetic advice for anyone navigating grief.
The Grief Handbook was published in South Africa, the UK and the US on July 13 and is the first grief handbook to combine personal, lived experience with expert guidance for navigating loss.
When writing the book Bridget, from South Africa, consulted professional experts and learned the art of writing about personal experience and how to make that marketable.
Talking about the webinar Alex Smith, project manager at XpoNorth, said: ‘It will be a fascinating insight into how to effectively channel personal experience through written
