Bookends gears up for Barcaldine Bookshed launch

-

Bookends will be heading out to The Racer Café near Barcaldine on Saturday, September 4, where visitors can peruse a superb stall of pre-loved books as well as delving into the new Bookshed.

With the Reading Room at the Victory Hall in Benderloch still out of bounds due to Covid restrictions, the Bookends Team has been updatingits pop-up slots in as many places as it can.

As well as the Book Busstop in Bonawe, The Book Hutch at Barcaldine bus stop and the Connel Book Phone Stop, it now has a wonderful bookshed in Taynuilt stacked full of glorious reading material for all ages, as well as the brand new Bookshed at The Racer Café.

Bookends founder Joy Cameron said: ‘Our good friends Wayne and Leanne Johnson, who run the café, have held three wonderful market days, the last of which was a mini Lorn Show where as well as local crafters and producers there were car booters, games, a candy floss stall, burger barbecue and some incredible animals on display.

‘Bookends would love to see you there on Saturday September 4 and hope in the near future to see you back at The Reading Room .... not long we hope.’

The market runs from 10am to 3pm and there will be lots of stalls as well as food from the café.

‘I can recommend it all,’ says Joy, ‘especially the cakes (the scones are so tasty).’

Anyone looking to book a crafters/producers stall or space for a car boot should text Leanne on 07818 192124. Six foot frontage is only £10 and some tables are available. The weather is looking good too.
