Morvern does COP26

-

Community groups in Morvern have pulled together an impressive array of events to coincide with the COP26 UN climate conference in Glasgow.

Morvern does COP26 got under way on Monday with a seed collection session as an introduction to the seed collecting competition which will run for the duration.

The idea started with climate change conversations within the community which were initiated by Stephen Hardy, a local Scottish Wildlife Trust ranger.

Veronique Walraven from Morvern Community Trust continued: ‘These conversations covered a wide range of subjects, however, we wanted to give them more visibility so we decided we would ask different groups to organise an event during COP26 so that we could create our own COP.

‘It is a showcase of all the exciting projects that are already taking place and it will highlight the issues we as a community need to address.’

All events are free, although some might ask for a small donation. Morvern Does COP26 has been put together in a short amount of time with no budget.
