WHERE IS THIS?

Who would have thought November would arrive so quickly?

There has been so much happening lately that the time has flown by and now we’re in November with only seven weeks until Christmas and it doesn’t look like we’ll have time to draw breath before the year is over.

We still have lots of visitors with us, especially at weekends, which is adding a nice buzz to the town, so maybe that’s why I can’t quite believe it’s November.

There is still plenty to look forward to this month, with the annual BID4Oban Fireworks display on Friday November 5, kindly sponsored by Scottish Sea Farms and, courtesy of the Northern Lighthouse Board, set off from its pier, which is the perfect place as it gives as many people as possible a fantastic vantage point. Of course, none of it would be possible without the lovely people from Fireworxs Scotland, who seem to make the display bigger and better every year.

Don’t forget to find your spot before 7.30pm, in time for the countdown by Oban FM.

We’re also in the run-up to Oban Winter Festival which returns this year. It’s so nice to have a little bit of normality back, especially for the festive season. That means it’s nearly time for Santa to visit too. I’m so excited that we’ll have Santa and his reindeer visiting us again this year on November 27, kicking off the Christmas celebrations beautifully. Despite everyone having to be a bit more aware of distancing, it will be great to see them again.
