Boxing medal for top of the bill Farquhar

-

Lochaber Phoenix boxer Farquhar MacRae was not only top of the bill at last week’s Highland Boxing Academy Home Show in Inverness he also brought home the winner’s trophy against local opponent Frazer MacDonald.

In the first of three, two-minute rounds, Farquhar started at a very fast pace, boxing behind his jab then starting to throw a series of combinations for a really good round.

He started round two where he left off but really started to relax and settle in to the action throwing constant combinations and dominating the rest of the round.

In the third and final round Farquhar started on jab and throwing combinations, delivering punches from all angles and keeping his opponent on the defensive throughout resulting in a unanimous decision on his win from the judges.

Coaches, Vince Lopez and Aidan Donnelly were delighted at the result which was well deserved and reflected the regular hard training in the gym and his willingness to accept advice and direction.

The club’s next outing will be in February to the Scottish

Farquhar MacRae with his Highland Home Show trophy.
