WHERE IS THIS?

The big day is almost here at last, only two more shopping days to go, and today (Thursday) is one of them.

Thankfully I’ve finished now, if it’s not bought, it’s too late and we’ll do without. I’m really looking forward to some relaxing days at home with my feet up watching some festive TV. I’ve hunted out the Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit, even Domino’s may make an appearance as we spend time at home where it’s cosy, counting our blessings as we think of those not lucky enough to have warm homes and enough to eat.

It’s been a strange couple of years but despite everything it’s not been all bad. We had a beautiful summer when the town filled with visitors, keen to enjoy all we have to offer. In fact it’s not that long since things started to quieten down.

The puppet Storm was one of my favourite things this year – it was an eerie experience seeing this huge sea goddess walking through Oban, but what an experience it was, something I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

Then we had an amazing firework display across the harbour, which exceeds my expectations every year, and an immense crowd to watch it followed by the Reindeer Parade, which is always a favourite - seeing Santa in person marks the start of the festive season for me.

On that note I’d like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year.

I don’t think 2022 will be starting off the way we want, again, but the year will be what we make of it and we can make it fantastic with lots to look forward to.
