VIEW FROM THE CHAMBER

-

Are you a business that is looking to support career pathways for young people? Perhaps you’re a parent or carer that wants to understand the opportunities available for young people to find their future destination?

Our hosted Developing the Young Workforce West Highland programme con- tinues to showcase and secure work experience opportunities, inspirational speaker events and much more, within high schools across the Lochaber region. The programme needs your support to find new work experience placements across business sectors, can you help?

As a Chamber of Commerce working for businesses across the Outdoor Capital of the UK, we are keen to support the future prospects of young people across the region and continue to help local businesses by linking them with the DYW West Highland programme. You don’t need to be a member of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce to offer work experience placements and we’re keen for as many businesses as possible across sectors to get in touch and start a conversation with our school coordinator team.

In addition to work experience placements being made available to pupils, the programme is keen to share the many development pathways that are available and will be showcasing these as part of a dedicated Scottish Apprenticeship week of action between March 7-11, looking to highlight employers, sector-based apprenticeships and the many regional success stories that show clear benefit and growth for young people in the West Highlands.

If you would like to offer placements, workplace insight or to talk to our school coordinator team about joining the placement network, please contact DYW West Highland team directly.

You can find out more about the work across the DYW West Highlands network at dywwesthighland.org and get in touch with the team by emailing info@dywwesthighland.org.
