Lochalsh’s Lynne Kennedy has triumphed amongst the thousands of entries submitted from across the globe for this year’s Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year, the world’s leading celebration of the art of food photography and film.

Two of her images were rated highly commended in the Champagne Taittinger Wedding Food Photographer category.

One of these, titled Soaked, features a young couple returning by boat following their marriage at a beautiful, hidden Scottish loch.

The image captures their surprise as their celebratory bottle explodes.

Lynne’s second image, Stormy Fizz, captures a couple directly following their marriage ceremony on a mountainside in Scotland, enjoying their champagne celebration.

The winners were announced by globally acclaimed chef and co-presenter of UK Masterchef: The Professionals, Monica

Galetti, in an awards ceremony live streamed on the competition’s YouTube channel last week.

It was watched by an audience across the globe, including celebrities from the food and photography world.

This year’s global judging panel, tasked with assessing the thousands of entries submitted from over 60 countries across the world, was chaired by legendary food photographer,

David Loftus.

The overall winner of this year’s competition was Kebabiyana, a smoky street food shot by Indian photographer Debdatta Chakraborty.

An exhibition of all the 2022 finalists will be premiering at The Royal Photographic Society, one of the world’s oldest photographic societies, in Bristol, from November 20 to December 22, 2022.

Describing her photographs for the competition, Lynne said about Soaked: ‘A young couple who just got married at a beautiful, hidden Scottish loch, got back on the boat for the return trip.

‘The groom was trying to spray a bottle of non-alcoholic fizz but it wouldn’t spray and then, right at the end, it surprised them both with a little explosion.’

And for Stormy Fizz she said: ‘A newlywed couple celebrate their marriage straight after the ceremony on a mountainside in Scotland last December.

‘The weather wasn’t very good and they got soaked during the outdoor ceremony but they were so happy they didn’t care.’
