Sabotage wheelies

SIR: The Oldie is not alone in detesting wheelie suitcases (The Old Un’s Notes, May issue). I object to the colonisation of space by small to medium-sized cases.

May I suggest the following? Walk up just behind the offside wheel of an offending suitcase and slip your foot under its rim. The bag will tip out of balance and leave the owner twisting to regain control, to smirks from other travellers. If he or she glares, just offer a small gesture of regret and massage your toe.
