My McGuinness sleep aid

I USUALLY stayed at the Grand Hotel when called upon to cover Conservative Party conferences held in Brighton.

But I never felt comfortable after it was blown up by Martin McGuinness’s IRA cronies in 1984.

There was one year, though, when I did manage to sleep easy in my bed.

That was the time the guest who checked in immediately before me was Martin McGuinness.
