Shot down by a judge

A MAN who blasted himself in the foot with a sawn- off shotgun faces a long jail sentence for possessing illegal weapons.

Mark Hughes, 23, claimed he found the shotgun and a Taser stungun while digging the garden at his grandparents’ home.

But this week a judge at Mold Crown Court called his story “utter nonsense”.

Hughes, of Buckley, North Wales, will be sentenced next month.
