BT-owned Plusnet has been fined £880,000 for continuing to bill 1,025 ex-customers. WHAT HAPPENED? Once a customer cancels their home phone or broadband service, billing systems must recognise the line has “ceased”. But an error in Plusnet’s system meant lines were still recognised as live.
